Bowman Construction Supply, Inc
was founded in 1969 by Thomas S. Bowman. He started the company in
his basement selling one product, a watertight expansion device for
bridges. Through the many years lots of family members have been
part of the company including brothers, sisters and cousins. We have
grown to about 25 employees. More importantly many of the employees
have become like family. Almost 25% of our employees have been here
for more than 10 years:

Today, David Bowman, Tom’s oldest son,
heads up the company. David’s younger brother Tom II is in charge of
the Bio Products Division. This is one of seven different divisions
that make up Bowman Construction Supply. These days Tom Bowman Sr.
spends lots of time on the golf course only occasionally taking a
break to sit in on a company Board Meeting.
We are very proud to be a family run business. We like making all
the important decisions and having to live with them. We like being
able to choose how to treat employees and we like to run our
business the way we choose. As Tom Bowman Sr. and many others say
“Treat people the way you would like to be treated”.
Bowman Construction Supply prides itself on service to the customer
in a number of ways. For some of the more technical products offered
to contractors, we will provide onsite assistance. We can go out to
the jobsite and make sure the contractor is installing the product
correctly and to answer any questions that the crew or architect /
engineer might have.
We feel it is important to educate our clients on specific products.
During the year we will do around 150 box lunch presentations /
education seminars, on a variety of products for architects and
engineers. Outside of the structured seminar setting, we are often
called upon to visit construction sites to provide input to the
contractor, architect, and/or engineer on what products can be used
to solve specific problems that arise on the site.
Bowman Construction Supply is not a contractor or a subcontractor.
We are a supplier, distributor, or manufacturer’s representative,
depending on the product. What sets us apart from other distribution
outlets is our participation with the architects and engineers. We
sell technical products that must be specified and used correctly.
We believe our people understand these products much more than a
normal supply house. Along with this philosophy, we attribute our
success to great customers, a great staff, great products, and great
manufacturers to represent. We are proud of what we sell, how we
treat customers and who we are.
